Frances Xu Shares About “Miracles and Guidance”

In Japan, in June 2023, Frances Xu held a workshop dedicated to “Miracles and Guidance,” two topics central to Frances' life and her teachings. Through parables drawn from her own experience, Frances delves into the significance and practicality of this theme to our awakening journey. She opens the workshop by sharing how she began experiencing the Course as a living presence.

Frances’ life took an unexpected turn when this presence began guiding her actions. In her own words: “I suddenly realized there is a power not of this world, guiding everything of this world.”

At the time she began her study of the Course, Frances lived in Australia, and her life had not unfolded as she initially had envisioned. She realized that, even though she had accomplished everything the world told her to accomplish, she wasn’t happy. One day she went for a walk with a question in her mind, “Should I stay in Australia or move back to China?” To her surprise, Frances heard a booming voice from the sky saying: “Stay; something is going to happen for you here.” Although the voice never returned, she remained attuned to that internal feeling and intuition. Consequently, she stayed in Australia for another five years. This led her to meet David Hoffmeister while he was on tour there, after which her life made a complete turn.

Saying “Yes” to Jesus as her guide and fully embracing A Course in Miracles, revealed a profound truth to Frances. In this workshop and in all her teachings, she emphasizes the importance of guidance and the “why'' we follow it: not because we have to, but because it makes us happy.

A divine presence will come forth to guide you. Jesus conveys to us, “It is my job to help you unwind from the world, not yours.”

Frances fervently teaches that we cannot judge how the awakening path should unfold and encourages us to release the self-imposed pressure on ourselves. Correcting our belief in separation is the Spirit’s function, and our willingness to be guided is all that matters. In this process, Frances shares, we will undoubtedly recognize that Jesus is with us always.
