Mystic David Hoffmeister is a living testament to the possibility of true, consistent peace of mind. David’s profound, spiritual journey began in 1986 when he discovered A Course in Miracles, recognizing it as the transformative tool he had long sought to radically shift his mind and perceptions. Inspired by David’s radiant joy and unwavering dedication to spiritual awakening and inner peace, a devoted group of students formed around him, flourishing into a spiritual community that embraces a simple, heartfelt life, deeply committed to the singular purpose of inner listening and following the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

About the Living Miracles Community 

This residential spiritual community is known as Living Miracles and follows two essential guidelines: no private thoughts and no people-pleasing. Everyone who arrives receives an opportunity to practice these guidelines in daily living, and to open up to authenticity and deep trust with one another.

Awakening to the truth of who we are is a collaborative venture of undoing the ego and discovering how to live a life that is truly inspired. Spiritual awakening is not individual or personal; it is of the whole, of the one mind awakening, connecting with everything it believes so it can be released.

When the mind aligns with the purpose of the Holy Spirit, the things that previously served the ego's purpose are now utilized for the purpose of awakening. Through this shift of purpose, everything in this world becomes a symbol used by the Holy Spirit to help the mind unlearn the ego's thought system. These symbols—such as technology, movies, poetry, or music—hold no meaning in and of themselves. It is their purpose that gives them meaning. In this way, the symbols we encounter are tools for unwinding the mind from false beliefs and perceptions, guiding it toward a state of peace and harmony with divine providence. Spiritual community is one of these symbols and can be allowed to serve in the most helpful way for the whole.

The Living Miracles community is a symbol that embodies a light, happy, and reverent state of mind. The symbol is not special or sacred on its own. Nothing exists apart from God as a separate entity in itself. Yet in serving the Holy Spirit's purpose, all are welcome and warmly embraced. This community is a family of light that is drawn together by a devotion to Awakening that each one feels in their heart.

For us to accept the truth of who we are, and receive the gift that God wants us to have and be—true happiness—we must allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse us of everything that is not Love. The direct experience of inner peace and union with the Spirit is what it is all about.

All are included in the Spirit's purpose, and all are reminded of who they are. The presence of God is very apparent to a mind that is willing to receive what God has given forever. Teaching aids appear in many forms, and words, music, books, videos, websites, apps, online courses, etc. serve the plan through the Guidance of the Holy Spirit. The world is filled with parables of hope, which reflects the Living Miracles community. The desire of the heart is all that is truly required.

Today, the Living Miracles community flourishes in centers in Utah and Mexico and extends its presence globally through a vibrant online community and (online) events, resources, and travels.
