In essence, our destiny is to live in total joy; a glorious inheritance bestowed upon us by our Creator. And this agape love, unconditional and unwavering, cannot be diminished. It remains forever unchanging. Jesus: A Gospel of Love on Destiny: “We know when we're feeling those feelings of emptiness, like, What's the point? It's like that Beatles song, "Another Day." It's one of those days where we go through the motions of the day, thinking there has to be more to it. That my soul has a destiny, and that destiny will be fulfilled through joy. I will have more and more ascending steps of joy and more intense joy as I go towards this ultimate joy.” To experience this perfect joy God wills for us, David imparts that our journey must inevitably venture into mysticism , with a willingness to embrace divine silence. We make room for the Holy Spirit by emptying our minds of “everything we think we think and everything we think we know.” Of everything that seemed reasonable, rational and important. How to decide for God's love and truth in every situation. The Decision for God Every situation that is presented to us is an opportunity for prayer. The decision for God is always present in our mind. This decision means that no matter what is presented, or what plays out, our decision is to be taken deeper into Truth. Now. Beyond the things of this world. When our desire for God is all that we want, we are no longer afraid, because there is no outcome that could go wrong. God is the one Guarantee, the one Guaranteed Outcome. When He is truly the aim I seek, and the aim of all my living here, I have nothing to fear. Because what I sought, I found. The end is here and now, in my heart. Any other 'end goal' takes my mind into identifying as a body, in the script, in the future. That is a scary thought. It doesn't matter the details. Simply identifying with the 'person', the 'body', 'in the script' is a scary thought - for it is to identify with something separate, something apart from God. Something that can be threatened. God is not in time. God is Love, here and now. There is a sameness behind all appearances, a Love beyond all images, a consistency beneath all happenings. In the deep recesses of our Mind, we have not forgotten our Father. Our oneness with Him is unshaken by illusions. We have always abided in His everlasting Love. “You will identify with what you think will make you safe. Whatever it may be, you will believe that it is one with you. Your safety lies in truth, and not in lies. Love is your safety. Fear does not exist. Identify with love, and you are safe. Identify with love, and you are home. Identify with love, and find your Self.” (What is the body? ACIM) "Father, You stand before me and behind, beside me, in the place I see myself, and everywhere I go. Jesus' teachings illuminated the ultimate truth of our existence. What Are The Beatitudes Jesus Spoke About? How Can We Teach love In This World? Jesus consistently directed our focus beyond the material world, transcending time and form. His teachings illuminated the ultimate truth of our existence; teachings emanating from love and forgiveness. In His timeless sermon on the mount, Jesus presented the beatitudes, a series of blessings that foster a state of blessedness. These profound statements invite us to experience life as children of God. By embracing humility, meekness, and a hunger and thirst for truth, we align ourselves with divine principles. The beatitudes remind us that true blessedness lies not in worldly achievements but in our connection to God’s love within our hearts. “And he opened his mouth, and taught them; saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3). Jesus isn’t referring to material poverty, instead, He points to a state of being: the poor in spirit acknowledge the limitations of the egoic mind and desire to transcend them. When we shed the illusion of self-sufficiency and humbly acknowledge our dependence on God we become open to His divine grace. True richness lies in dwelling in the beatitudes—in God’s love, peace, and joy. These are the treasures of the heart that transcend earthly wealth; as David Hoffmeister says: “ Do you have the possessions, or do the possessions have you?” “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5) To be meek is not weakness; it is a state of being characterized by gentleness, patience, kindness, and humility. Meekness arises from a holy perception, one that transcends the ego’s demands and aligns with divine truth. Jesus embodied meekness during His crucifixion. Jesus submitted His will to God, saying, “...Not my will but Thy Will be done.” (Luke 22:42). “ He was identified with the Christ idea! He was aligned in that flow, aligned to Source, and not identified with anything in the world. ” (David Hoffmeister). “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9) Our true inheritance lies in inner peace . When we accept this as our goal, our awakening accelerates. Peace is the absence of conflict; it’s a state of alignment with divine truth. Jesus reminds us that we are not sons and daughters of humanity; we are children of God. Our essence transcends earthly roles. When we remember our divine origin, peace becomes our birthright. In guiding us back to truth, Holy Spirit uses even what the ego made to lead us Home. “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4) No one comes into time and space without being tested, and sometimes to the limit. But when we suffer, it often stems from egoic decisions that go against God’s Will and lead us away from His peace. The path to happiness lies in trust; we trust that Holy Spirit will purify our heart’s desires, and as we surrender to God’s will, peace returns to our mind. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) Jesus is referring here to spiritual hunger; a yearning for truth, goodness, and alignment with God’s will. He invites us to recognize that our wants and needs are rooted in perception, not in ultimate Reality. What God created is abundant, and we lack nothing. The path to correcting perception lies in forgiveness and miracle working. As we forgive illusions and align with divine truth, our perception shifts closer to Reality. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8) To be pure in heart is to cleanse our inner being; to remove the veils of ego, judgment, and fear. It’s about keeping our hearts open to the love of God. When we offer this divine love to all our brothers and sisters we glimpse our true Self. We recognize that we are Love, created by Love, and eternally connected to the Source. The pure in heart behold God not with physical eyes but with spiritual vision. In the depths of love, we encounter the Divine. “God is everything; Spirit is everything; Love is everything; and the world of time and space is nothing. And yet, if we believe in nothing as our identity, we are unhappy, because we are children of God. We breathe, live, and move in Spirit and light. The fundamental question arises: How can we authentically live in alignment with our true Self, while the illusion of time still seems real? How Can We Regain Awareness of Being Held in God’s Grace? How Can We Regain Awareness of Being Held in God’s Grace? The fall from grace is a delusional belief in the sleeping mind of the Son of God. It convinces itself that it has achieved the impossible by separating from its Creator. Terrified by this heady delusion, the sleeping mind scrambled to shed its ontological guilt of separation by projecting a world of form outside itself. The ego declares, ‘This is your new home,’ to the bewildered sleeping mind! “Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh.”(ACIM T-27.VIII.6:2) God Is, and so must His Son be, for He created Him. Nothing can alter this truth, just as nothing can defy His Will that He and His Son remain together in eternity. Embracing these truths wholeheartedly brings forth peace and joy, releasing the mind from the error of believing it is no longer in unity with God and His innocence. Instead, the mind mistakenly perceives itself as sinful and guilty due to separation from Him. As the mind acknowledges that the universe of form is but a fleeting dream and a vast illusion, the inner light grows brighter and more visible. Thus, the mind realizes it has never truly departed from its Source. “For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18) The fundamental question arises: How can we authentically live in alignment with our true Self, while the illusion of time still seems real? How do we extend God’s love and light to our fellow brothers and sisters, seemingly on earth? In a world made by the ego to extinguish peace and joy, how do we attain inner serenity and lasting joy? Lastly, how do we recover our awareness that we are still being held in grace by God? The answer lies in wholeheartedly accepting the truth and steadfastly rejecting its denial. “Deny illusions, but accept the truth. Deny you are a shadow briefly laid upon a dying world. Release your mind and you will look upon a world released.” ACIM Lesson 132 This is the lesson of forgiveness that God has entrusted to the Holy Spirit to aid us. The Holy Spirit holds the memory of God and His Son, the Christ. While acknowledging the error, the Holy Spirit gazes beyond it, reminding us of what is genuinely true and real. Through this divine guidance, the Holy Spirit sets free a deceived mind that believes in the reality of the time-space world. Forgiveness becomes the sole path to forgetting this fragmented world, forgiving illusions, and releasing the past dream of judgments. By aligning ourselves with the Holy Spirit and Jesus’ teachings, we embark on a journey toward the happy dream. In this dream, the universe unfolds as a seamless tapestry of wholeness and forgiveness. The perception of wholeness persists as the final illusion until the mind embraces its eternal nature, shared with its Creator. “There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.” (Matthew 10:26) Within our mind, only the thoughts aligned with God hold truth. Ego concepts, which construct a world of illusions, attempt to defy this fundamental truth. By embracing the realization that we are an unalterable Mind created by God, we begin to experience the reality of love and light. This awakening enables us to extend these truths to others, emanating from the core of our being. “Today, I accept the truth about myself in order to bless, heal, and comfort others.” David Hoffmeister When we align with the Holy Spirit, we open ourselves to the inner light that permeates our being and flows through us. Recognizing the reality of this light, we also acknowledge its profound capacity to heal. It is only by accepting that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate healer that we can begin to feel safe in allowing this light to shine. As we surrender every encounter and circumstance to the guidance and blessing of the Holy Spirit, His healing power becomes increasingly evident. We can hand over everything including our relationships, false beliefs or intense emotions. By relinquishing control and allowing the Holy Spirit to fulfill His divine role, which always yields fruit, our trust in Him deepens. We become increasingly aware that we are truly held in God’s Grace, bestowed upon us through the magnificent gift of healing embodied in the Holy Spirit. The truth of being held in God's Grace can only be recognized in the Now. This moment transcends time; it is timeless and free from the illusory constraints that foster the belief in separation from God. Therefore, it is paramount to join the Holy Spirit in the holy instant, excluding the mind's chatter and distractions that only serve to conceal the holy instant from our sight. “Each instant is a clean, untarnished birth, in which the Son of God emerges from the past into the present. Notes of Inspiration: An Interview with Peter Kirk As this year’s Strawberry Fields Festival approaches, we’re excited to share some of our “Notes of Inspiration” behind this 3-day event. I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Peter Kirk for an intimate conversation about his journey with music and opening to drumming as a way of tuning into the Spirit. Last year, Peter received the guidance (and the means!) to be the drummer in the Living Miracles worship band, RISE . In this interview, he shares joyfully about the involuntary nature of the miracle and the orchestration behind the band, plus the significance of this year’s Strawberry Fields Festival held at the Living Miracles Monastery in Utah, from July 12-14. Pete shares how he miraculously became the drummer for RISE: “I feel like Spirit gave me some kind of green light. I had this little whim down there that I hadn’t been aware of. As soon as I was tuning into spirit, I just wanted to say, “Yes!” to whatever feels the most expansive. And as you know, we all join together in the community every day to pray about what is most helpful for everyone. I didn’t have a strong sense of really wanting to play music, at least not intensely over the last 10 years. But then the idea came to others at the same time that it came to me. Suddenly, I just felt this spark, and I feel so grateful. I wasn’t aware that it was going to light me up. And it is so joyful. I love doing this, and I didn’t have to make it happen.” Since 2012, there have been a number of Strawberry Fields Festivals. Peter attended the most recent one in 2018 and this was very significant for him. I asked him how it feels to be attending this year's Festival as a member of RISE: “ I feel this brightness about the festival and being at the Monastery and the beautiful Strawberry Canyon. It feels like the canyon is such a symbol of this big open heart. We had different musical acts last time, but this festival is going to be a bit more intimate in a way. It’s a bit shorter, but it feels like it’s going to be this intimate time together. It has been given for us to really share from our hearts, and I think everything we do as a community together is about our shared prayer, purpose, and communication. I feel like that’s what we want to extend through the music as well.” The Strawberry Fields Festival 2024 promises to be an intimate and joyful celebration with live music, movie commentaries, and enlightenment talks with David Hoffmeister—a deep spirit of togetherness, and of course, all sprinkled with an abundance of exuberance and joy. Fear, as intense as it can feel, is not real. Perfect love cast out fear. How Do We Overcome Fear? What does perfect love cast out fear mean? Fear, as intense as it can feel, is not real. It’s best thought of as an acronym, F.E.A.R. i.e. false evidence appearing real. The falsity of fear comes from the decision to experience the universe through the five senses. This lends itself to the perception of an unreal physical world which veils the Truth. Because our true nature is abstract Love and Light, experiencing physicality creates the illusion that our Reality, the Reality that God created, has somehow been altered. This is the belief in the ego, or the belief in separation from God. It grips the mind in fear, or oftentimes, terror. The body, which is the star of the show in the perceptual dream, is key to this altered state of mind from Heaven to hell, from safety to danger, and from oneness to separation. “The body is a fence the Son of God imagines he has built to separate parts of himself from other parts. It is within this fence he believes he lives to die as it decays and crumbles. But within this fence he believes he is safe from love ... and if he didn’t die, what “proof” is there that God’s eternal Son can be destroyed.” (ACIM W-260) ∼♥∼ Love is what we are, and love cannot be destroyed; to know fully who we are will cast out fear. ∼♥∼ Returning to Love often requires mind training, which slowly but surely draws our mind’s energy away from the ego, as this thought system is highly addictive when believed in. True forgiveness of the perceptual dream is realized through emptying our mind from all that it thinks it thinks and thinks it knows, to overcome its belief in the “I know” mind. Our real Mind holds only what we think with God, which is pure knowledge of our nature as Love and Light. Any unloving thoughts, which contradict our true nature, stem from the false belief that the perceptual dream is real; that we are merely the body, and that the five senses are a valid test in determining what reality is. Forgiving these thoughts and perceptions can be accomplished by observing them with the Holy Spirit, a gift given to us by God to guide us home. ∼♥∼ “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8) ∼♥∼ As we withhold judgment of our feelings and perceptions, instead giving them over to the Holy Spirit, our mind begins to be cleansed of its perceptual errors; hastening in its return to the light. As we gently recover awareness of the power of our Mind, the light becomes more and more present within it. We become more and more adept at resisting the temptation to make egoic thoughts real or to accept them as true. Eventually, the knowledge of our pristine Mind, where fear can enter not, is recovered. Allowing the Holy Spirit to gently guide our mind to its original mooring in Love indeed changes the purpose for the body. It is transformed from a fence keeping us stuck in hell without hope of escape, to the means by which we can be freed and returned to sanity. In this way, the goal of Heaven has been exchanged for the pursuit of hell. As we allow only loving thoughts toward our brothers and sisters, we begin to recognize that they are intimately joined with us. They are walking along the road back to sanity with us, hand in hand. What a stark contrast to viewing them through the egoic lens which sees them as a source of competition and opposition to perpetuate fear! Now the body serves the Mind it was designed in. It is no longer being used in the ego’s plan for salvation to kill, but being used for the holy purpose of extending love. ∼♥∼ “There is an experience that brings an end to all uncertainty and an end to all questions.
